Everything in life is layered, composite, multifaceted.
Every person, every moment, every deepest emotion.
Hence the need to superimpose various images,
techniques and materials in most of my portraits.

PORTRAIT
A private portrait—whether of an individual or a family—is an intimate possession: something anyone may admire, yet only its protagonists can truly understand and appreciate.
I believe that a meaningful portrait requires a high degree of what I call emotional customization. If I am able to understand my subjects—if I can catch a glimpse of their personalities, their feelings, their dreams—then I have what I need to create a work that is both unique and deeply personal.
In essence, the foundation of my work is communication: a shared journey, however brief, of introspection and expression.

PORTRAIT
The tradition of official portraiture is vast, rich and impossible to ignore.
So when I approach an official portrait, I try to assimilate the lesson of the master portraitists from the past and adapt it to my own aesthetics, aspiring to create something that fits within this storied tradition and yet is unmistakably different.
